The Pelican Aquapark is a further proof that even in climes without long warm summers people can have absolute fun on an aquafunpark. And also in this regions the operation of an aquafunpark can be very profitable. After the first season we met Bram Schram, the Manager of the Pelican School, for an interview.

aquafun: “Hello Bram, how was the first season for you and your facility?”

Bram: “Very good. Over 5000 people came to visit our aquapark already in the first 2 months. Everybody was very exited and enthusiastic.”

aquafun: “Could you increase the number of visitors in your facility compared to last year?”

Bram: “A lot of people explored our aquapark and this way many people also learned about our other activities. We are a water sport school where people can learn different types of water sports – like windsurfing, sailing and kitesurfing. We focus however on summer camps for children and teens between an age of 6 and 16 years. We have integrated the aquapark in our camps which had a major influence on the popularity.”

aquafun: “What was the reason to install a water park at the Pelican School?”

Bram: “Every year we are looking for new and attractive activities to maintain the exclusive character of our youth camps.”

aquafun: “Why did you decide for the brand aquafun?”

Bram: “The elements from aquafun are bigger than items of other brands – but not so high, that the risk of injuries increases. And the connection system is very safe. I also like the aquafun colors very much.”

aquafun: “What kind of marketing you did for this new attraction?”

Bram: “We've designed a special website www.pelicanaquapark.be just for the water park, of course flyers and posters and we started a big facebook campaign. The local newspapers and radio stations also promoted our project. And we are working closely together with the local government.”

aquafun: “What do you expect from the next season? What are your plans?”

Bram: “We are currently designing a new event-website (www.pelicanevents.be) especially for groups, schools and companies, because we want to intensify these cooperations. We hope to welcome a lot more people with this new market.”

aquafun: “Thank you very much, Bram. Good luck for the next season and have fun.”
